A serine protease inhibitor which irreversibly inhibits tripeptidyl peptidase II (TPPII), a giant protease which may substitute for some proteasome functions, and reversibly inhibits TPPI. Shows only marginal inhibition of the chymotrypsin-like activity of the proteasome.
