ALX 5407 hydrochloride has been shown to act as a selective non-transportable inhibitor of the glycine transporter GlyT1 with IC50 values of 3 nM and > 100 mM for human GlyT1c and GlyT2 respectively. This compound does not display any activity at the inhibitory glycine receptor or glycine site of the NMDA receptor i.e. - IC50 > 100 mM.
