N,N,N‘,N‘-Tetramethyl-L-Cystine Dihydrochloride

N,N,N‘,N‘-Tetramethyl-L-Cystine is an alkyl substituted cystine analog. Studies indicate that the solubility of the molecule in acidic conditions and neutral water increases as more N-methyl substitutions occur. It is known that N,N,N‘,N‘-Tetramethyl-L-Cystine can be prepared by reductive formylation of L-cystine.
