聚-ADP-核糖基转移酶介导蛋白质的聚-ADP-核糖基化并在DNA修复中起关键作用。 主要介导目标蛋白的谷氨酸和天冬氨酸ADP-核糖基化：NAD +的ADP-D-核糖基转移至谷氨酸和天冬氨酸残基的受体羧基，另外ADP-核糖基转移至末端的2'-位置 腺苷部分，形成平均链长为20-30个单位的聚合物。
